Paws of Peace

Through Paws of Peace, we work closely with TADSAW (Train a Dog, Save a Warrior) to match survivors with a canine companion that suits their individual needs, ensuring a partnership that promotes healing and growth. Survivors can also train their own pet, providing that its breed and temperament are suitable to becoming a trained service dog.

This program provides for the training and accreditation of a Medical Alert Service Dog at NO CHARGE to the person or their family. Medical conditions would include, but are not limited to anxiety, depression, epilepsy, seizures, autism, survivors of bullying, domestic violence, sexual assault, racism, etc.

All service dogs are participant-trained. Survivors have the option to train their own pet or have a dog donated to them. The program takes 25-40 weeks for training, depending on the participant’s progress.

You can make a meaningful difference in the lives of sex trafficking survivors and their furry companions by getting involved with Paws of Peace. Here are several ways you can support our program:

  • Donate: Your financial contributions directly impact the success of Paws of Peace. Your donations help cover the costs of rescuing, training, and caring for the emotional support dogs, as well as providing ongoing support to the survivors. A donation of $2,500 covers the cost of one dog’s graduation from service dog training.

  • Spread the word: Help us raise awareness by sharing our program on social media, with your community, and among friends and family. Those interested in applying to train their own dog or be connected with a rescue dog to train it are welcome to contact us.
